Persistence over perfection

It is so difficult, as a self proclaimed perfectionist, to just let go. Here is a tough lesson I have learned in the last few years; children see through your BS. :) They know when you are parenting in a "do as I say not as I do" way.  If I want them to be brave. I have to be brave. If I want them to let go and try, to be willing to make mistakes and have things go wrong so they can reap the rewards of growth and knowledge, then I must be willing to do the same. It takes introspective self love on my part, on your part. It takes trust and patience and bravery. It is a level of living you are worthy of. Your children know. Show them the way.
